RAY BERGSTROM

Ray brings the timeless charm of swing and gypsy jazz to stages across Southern California. A specialist in the Great American Songbook, his playing evokes the golden era of the 1930s, ’40s, and '50s, channeling the energy of big bands and the elegance of vocal legends like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. Ray also performs in the distinctive Gypsy jazz style of Django Reinhardt, combining exciting skill with melodic expression.

Ray is a fixture on the Los Angeles jazz scene, performing at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills, Vibrato in Bel Air, the Drake in Laguna Beach, Campus JAX in Newport Beach, Terranea in Palos Verdes, the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, and many more. Equally at home in playing solo, duo, or in ensembles, he brings versatility and sophistication to every setting.

Beyond the stage, Ray is an accomplished composer and educator. He earned a Grammy Certificate for his songwriting on Ziggy Marley’s 2016 self-titled album, has been an instructor with Fender Play, and co-produced an online guitar course with Supertramp’s Carl Verheyen. He has also taught physics of music at several Los Angeles colleges and universities.

Whether performing solo, duo, or with a full band, Ray delivers a polished, authentic jazz experience steeped in tradition and crafted for today's audiences.
